Cultivating the Inner Fire

Ben Manns Internal Arts

This is the personal site for Benjamin Manns. I’m an instructor for Lotus Nei Gong International, currently teaching the Internal Arts of Nei Gong, Taijiquan, and Xingyiquan.

Ethos

"The arts are beautiful and deserve to be practiced for their own sake. Some things should be done in service to efficiency... But other things should be done for the sheer love of it. They are simply beautiful or bring you joy, and feel like they express something from inside."

"I go to sleep in a contented restfulness, knowing that I spent the day putting those drops in the bucket. Fun comes and goes, but it doesn't matter, especially if you find the work you do itself fun. Embrace the boring!"

"Life is beautiful, and in my eyes there are few things as beautiful as a discipline taken as deep as one can take it, refined over decades in marriage to the craft."
